Hunter Lerris, Intrepid Bumbler
Ah.. the infallible Hunter Lerris. The so-called hero of the NML story. He's just an ordinary Hunter. Alright... A very abnormal one. But he's got something going for him, otherwise, why would all the girls be after him? Of course, it could just be that he's the only guy within a 78000 ms ping radius....
Common belief is that his grip on reality is anything but secure, and his quirks are many, but somehow he manages to lead a camp of Netmonsters thousands strong. A self professed member of the Monks of Lunch, Lerris' world seems to revolve around food. It is possible he would have joined the Monks of Breakfast, but he doesn't seem to get up early enough. He's an old hand at Netmonster, and it's been revealed that he's tried and failed the fight against Shade before.
It has not been made clear why he really ever joined the war against Shade in the first place, but whatever those reasons, they seem to take second priority to his personal vendeta against the Data Nodes. He's been the subject of an all out Data Node war and continues to clash with them, even though he doesn't know the full scope of their numbers, powers, or plans any more than the next Hunter. However, he's intervened in their affairs enough times to merit their personal attentions.
Lerris bears a staffblade, a strange sword/staff hybrid with a viral core. The progenitor malcode can affect Data Nodes, Netmonsters, and possibly even Hunters. Freed from the Great Firewall under mysterious circumstances, it keeps rearing its ugly head and changing the Net in subtle ways. Does Lerris really have it under control, or is the staffblade biding its time before turning on him?
The whereabouts of Hunter Lerris are presently unknown. He disappeared from Cyberia after the Frozen Cup after Wyran attempted to kill him. He claims to be making his way to Shade's Tower alone... an attempt that borders on literal virtual suicide.
